  1. It’s camping, roughing it. Why go camping if you make it easy? Stay home and pretend to camp would be better.

    1. Why not? In this day and age camping is suitable and attainable for a wide range of people. If you want to do the Spartan thing, fine, but there is no reason others should not enjoy the comforts of home in their camping arrangements if they so desire. Camping equipment has come a long way in my lifetime, and as I age I am more and more appreciative of that.

  2. Michael Woods

There are some clever ideas here. Kudos. But on the Breakfast Station, 1500W is a lot to ask out of most camping situations. Even my camping trailer couldn’t support that unless hooked up to shore power.

    1. I have been setting up the blue wash station ever since Covid-19 hit. Instead of paper towel, I put out folded face cloths which a person uses an discards into a basket. Each night I wash them and that way your not using expensive paper towels. We run a u-pick saskatoon berry orchard. People love my wash station area.

  3. Thanks so much much for all the great camping ideas. These will be super useful for planning our next trip!

  4. Awesome! this post has a lot of detailed tips and tricks, Me and my dad loves to go camping a lot. I will be sharing this one with him. He will surely love this. Nice one!

  5. The rake for the s’mores….. Seriously. Going outside to try it right now! Anyway, there should be some games added to this list.

  6. Does the All Night Campfire Wood Burning Idea really work? I’ve seen this online a couple times but has anyone actually tried it. I would think that the fire would just move up the logs before the logs on the bottom burned down to ash. Just curious, guess I might have to try it for myself and find out.

    1. I tried it,Jeff. Both times I did, the all the logs burned at the same time and I had a bonfire on my hands. Would have been a good idea but doesn’t work.

    2. I can see potential in the idea. Flatter angle, some type of spacer between logs, uncured oak etc etc

  7. Tammie Brinduse

The mason jar tiki torch may not be allowed at some campgrounds, open flames need to be contained in a fire pit. Solar powered lights work well at a campsite…lighting a pathway, steps to a trailer or sitting on a table and they can be moved around where needed, safely.

  8. Another camping hack is to wrap frozen burritos in foil, place them close to the camp fire and when you’re ready to eat grab one and dive in. Or if you’re an off roader, place them in the engine compartment next to the manifold and grab one when the truck stops for a break.
