If the Christmasy smells of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg aren’t enough to entice you to whip up a batch, the white chocolate should have you rushing to the mixing bowls. Our Gingerbread Oreo Truffles and Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies should be next on your list!

Gingerbread Fudge

True gingerbread always includes rich molasses, and this fudge is no different. If you’ve never bought molasses before, I’m going to tell you exactly what to look for.

You want dark, unsulphured molasses for all things gingerbread. Make certain the jar doesn’t say “blackstrap” molasses. (That type has a strong taste that’s not especially sweet.)

The Perfect Christmas Gift for Helpers & Co-Workers

Every Christmas I search for something special and homemade to give to our postal carrier, trash collectors and co-workers

This is perfect.

It’s definitely yummy and smells amazing, but it’s also pretty.

There are two layers, the gingerbread fudge layer and the vanilla fudge layer on top. That makes it look like I spent hours making it!

Melting the Ingredients

Some people prefer to use the microwave to melt the white chocolate, condensed milk, butter, and molasses.

You can certainly do it that way, but be careful. The problem with melting the ingredients in the microwave is that it’s so easy to overheat them.

What should be a nice, smooth mixture can turn into something dry and completely unusable.

If you use your microwave, heat for seconds at a time rather than minutes and be sure to stir everything before you turn it on again.

Gifting the Layered Gingerbread Fudge

I’m not sure what it is, but this recipe puts me in mind of a nice, red tartan. The pattern is so cozy, and even smelling gingerbread makes me want to sit by a fire and drink hot cocoa.

For that reason, I think I’ll find a beautiful tartan container, line it with some pretty paper and tie it with a little rustic ribbon. And wouldn’t a little gingerbread man tag totally add the perfect finishing touch?
