Owl Lunch for Kids

My 9 year old came up with this fun Owl Lunch for Kids for his art competition at school with the theme “Let Your Imagination Fly”. He did such a great job & I am so proud of him.

Owl Lunch... a fun & healthy lunch for kids

This lunch is a fun way to get your kids to eat some healthy foods for lunch as well!

Owl Lunch Ingredients

  • Bread– we used Sandwich Thins or you could cut bread into a circle
  • Sandwich filling– cheese and meat of choice, we used turkey
  • Decorating– lettuce. black olives or grapes, baby carrot, cucumber and almonds

How To Make An Owl Lunch

  • Fill your sandwich with any filling that you want.
  • Cut cheese slices with a small cookie cutter or with scissors for a fun edge.
  • Place the cut out cheese pieces on top rotating the colors.
  • Place the cucumber slices on top for the eyes and cut a black olive in half for the pupils.
  • Cut a baby carrot in half and cut out a beak and the feet using a knife.
  • Place almonds on top for the ears and lettuce on the sides for flying wings.

Here he is with his fun creation and his photography entry and he won 1st place! He also won 2nd place in literature and 1st place in music (drums). He is such a talented kid and I am a very lucky mom!

Owl Lunch

  • turkey breast
  • lettuce
  • 2 slices cucumber
  • 1 baby carrot
  • 1 black olive or black grape
  • 2 almonds

Instructions

  • Fill your sandwich with turkey or any filling that you want.
  • Cut cheese slices with a small flower cookie cutter or with scissors for a fun edge. Place the cut out cheese pieces on top rotating the colors.
  • Place the cucumber slices on top for the eyes and cut a black olive in half for the pupils.
  • Cut a baby carrot in half. Cut out a beak and the feet using a knife. Place almonds on top for the ears and lettuce on the sides for flying wings.
