  • Betty Crocker butter pecan cake mix
  • Betty Crocker coconut pecan frosting
  • Eggs
  • Canola oil
  • Half-and-half
  • Pecans
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Butter

How to Make a Southern Pecan Praline Cake

When making this cake, you want to grease the 9*13 inch baking dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Using a mixing bowl, combine the cake ingredients together, without the chopped pecans.

Once the cake batter is combined well, add in the chopped pecans.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared dish and bake for 40-50 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Cake:

  • 1 box Betty Crocker butter pecan cake mix
  • 16 oz. Betty Crocker coconut pecan frosting
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 C canola oil
  • 1 C half-and-half for increased flavor instead of water
  • 1/2 C chopped pecans

Butter Pecan Glaze:

Cake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Grease or spray a 9x13” baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the cake ingredients except for the chopped pecans.
  • Mix well.
  • Add chopped pecans and stir to combine.
  • Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for about 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Set aside too cool.

Butter Pecan Glaze:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Add condensed milk and stir.
  • Heat thoroughly, then add chopped pecans.
  • Stir again to combine and remove from heat.
