Don’t you just love jello shots? I like making fun treats for the adults — the kids shouldn’t be the only ones having fun! We have so many delicious recipes like our Pina Colada Jello Shots and our Mermaid Jello Shots! You can make these so simply or you can get creative. This recipe is a pretty good combination of both.
Strawberry Jello Shots with Pop Rocks
Making jello shots is pretty simple: you are basically taking your usual recipe but adding in alcohol. For this one, we’re using strawberry Jello, champagne and Kinky Red Liqueur. If you haven’t heard of or tried this, it’s a vodka infusion with watermelon and strawberry. It’s so yummy!
The extra gelatin packets help thicken these up since we’re adding champagne as well as the vodka.
Pop Rocks make this shot extra fun with the popping and crunching as you chew. We used the strawberry flavor but you can really use whatever you’d like. You can’t go wrong!
How To Make The Shots
- First, add your cold water to the gelatin powder and let it soak for a couple of minutes. Then, whisk it together.
- Next, add the Strawberry Jello and hot water (VERY hot, like almost boiling) to that mixture and stir.
- When that is all mixed together add the alcohol: champagne and vodka.
- Pour the Jello into tiny plastic cups and let them sit in the fridge until they’re firm.
- The Pop Rocks go on very last, right when you’re ready to eat them. They’ll get mushy and won’t pop if you put them on too early and let them sit.

Ingredients
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 box strawberry Jello
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 ounces Kinky Red Liqueur this has strawberry and watermelon flavors
- 1/2 cup champagne
- Pop Rocks
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl place unflavored gelatin powder.
- Add 1 cup cold water.
- Soak the gelatin for 2 minutes. Whisk until dissolved.
- Add 1 cup of hot water and strawberry Jello to the bowl. Whisk until everything is dissolved.
- Add Kinky Red Liqueur and champagne. Whisk to combine.
- Pour Jello into small cups and place in fridge for about an hour, or until very firm.
- Add Pop Rocks to the top of the Jello.
- Eat these quickly because once the Pop Rocks stop popping,, you’re missing out on the fun!
