First of all, who doesn’t love Mexican food? From Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup to my favorite Strawberry Mojito, I adore all of it.

Second, food in jars! Putting this meal in a jar makes it so easy to transport and super easy to eat. No mess. Plus let’s just admit it. It looks cute.

Walking Tacos in a Jar

I don’t know about you, but I prefer to buy ground chuck over regular hamburger meat. Ground chuck is a shoulder cut, so it is packed with plenty of flavor and it’s super juicy.

If I do use hamburger meat, I make sure it’s at least 90% lean. Otherwise, when I cook it, it shrinks down into a pool of grease. I wind up not saving any money because there’s so much liquid.

I try to always keep diced tomatoes with chilies in the house, and the same with taco seasoning. Those two things can work together to make lots of other goodies.

What kinds of things do you use them for? I’m always excited to find out about new recipes, so share them with me in the comments!

Where to Serve Walking Tacos

These are absolutely perfect for football parties, picnics, large family get-togethers, and to make ahead for a regular weeknight dinner.

The clean up is easy, thanks to the jars. Pop them in the dishwasher and you’re all done! I love that.
