This 7 Layer Flag Dip is so patriotic and so easy to make! It’s made with your favorite dip ingredients and is sure to be a huge hit at any 4th of July party that you bring it to.
Making fun and festive treats for holidays is one of my favorite things to do. When it’s something that looks incredible but is actually quite easy to make – that is my favorite! This Red White and Blue Bundt Cake and our Patriotic Poke Cake are great examples.
7 Layer Flag Dip for 4th of July
Are you going to any fun BBQ’s for Independence Day? If you are, you’re totally going to want to make this dip. It’s one of those dishes you bring in and everyone gushes over. Everybody there will be asking you how you made it. Not only does it look awesome and just like the American flag, it tastes so delicious.
Making Your Flag Dip
- To make this great dip, you’ll layer all your favorite 7 layer dip ingredients like beans, salsa, cheese and lettuce.
- Then, you get to the fun part. Making the flag!
- You’ll make the stripes out of a cream cheese and sour cream mixture and diced tomatoes.
- The blue part of the flag is made from crushed blue corn tortilla chips! And guess what the little circle for stars is? Cheese!
- If it looks intricate and tricky it isn’t: because to make those tiny dots, use an icing tip upside down and use it as a little mini cookie cutter.
- We love how this turned out and will definitely be making this to bring to our next July 4th party!

Looks amazing!!!
Great work! Actually, I like your creativity. I will try to do on 4th July.
I could not find the blue chips at World Market in Brookfield, WI. They said they had no such thing only the deep purple chips. Maybe it varys from state to state. Going to try the food coloring like Audrey suggested.
This is absolute genius! Love, love, love it. Wish I’d seen it earlier, but I’ll Pin it and wait for the 4th of July.
Where can I get chips ? I went to our fresh market , the bags had blue chips on front of bag but were deep purple , went back to store manager opened 3 bags all same color , 1 hour until church picnic. Manager whipped up blue food coloring in some sour cream, best we could do . We have Whole Foods and Public . Thanks
I literally think this is the best idea I have yet to see for the 4th of July. I am so making this. My sister always goes all out for food themed recipes – I have always giggled about it. But now with this recipe I will impress her. Thanks friend. Sharing on FB, pinned and yummed. Can’t wait! xo San

Perfect appetizer for the 4th of July. The chips are so blue, I've never seen bright blue chips before. They really look great on the flag.
I love the blue color on those chips as well…got them at World Market!
SUPER cute!! And I love that it's not full of a bunch of food coloring. Great idea.
Thanks Mindy! Yes…I was originally thinking about adding blue to sour cream, but that just seemed weird. The chips work out great!
