Children all around the world are unable to attend school during this scary time. Many companies and websites are offering free things to help parents and kids during this time. Famous author Mo Willems decided to help out as well and is offering online art classes.
Mo Willems
Mo Willems is a bestselling author and illustrator. |He is best known for his books “The Pigeon Has to Go to School!” “I Will Take a Nap!” and “Knufflebunny.”
He recently announced that he will be doing weekday drawing lessons on Youtube. He calls them Lunch Doodles.
Many parents are now struggling trying to find new things to teach their kids and keep them occupied while being quarantined. Now that many states are at the stage of a ‘shelter in place’ makes it even more difficult to keep children busy.
Thankfully, Mo Willems has come to the rescue! He is offering these Lunch Doodles to help parents and kids have something new and exciting for their days.
In his introductory video, he says, “I know a lot of you guys are not in school. You’re at home right now because of all the things that are going on. Well, guess what? I’m at home, too. We’re gonna hang out together.”
Lunch Doodles
These Lunch Doodles will take place every weekday at 1:00pm EST time. They will be live-streamed right from his house. You can find these videos on Youtube, along with the Kennedy Center’s websites.
The videos will last for around 20 minutes. He also welcomes kids to watch and ask him questions and comments that he will address in his videos.

We are truly appreciative to Mo Willems along with many others who are reaching out and helping during this difficult time.
If your kids love art, or want to learn something new, try hanging out with Mo Willems each day at lunch for his online classes.
