The Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make Cake Mix Cookie Bars (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the easy to print recipe card):

Yellow cake mix – any brand you like will work.
Eggs – we used large eggs.
Butter – regular salted butter is just right for this recipe.
Semi-sweet chocolate chips – be sure to use semi-sweet chocolate chips and not milk chocolate which will easily burn while the cookie bars bake. Semi-sweet chocolate chips (or even chocolate chunks) give these bars the familiar chocolate flavor we all love.

Made these with my grandson…very easy and delicious! I added vanilla and used an 11×8 pan for a slightly thicker cookie bar. Best part, easy enough for a 3 year old to help!

These were quick, easy, and delicious! I added in about 3/4 c. chopped pecans. I also only had 1/2 bag of chocolate chips, so I chopped up some snack size Hershey bars, which were like chocolate chunks. These are rich, and go well with a cold glass of milk!

Just made this with a Pillsbury sugar free cake mix and Hershey’s zero sugar chocolate chips for my diabetic husband. He LOVES it. Thank you!
