Candy Cane Oreo Fudge

Experience has taught me that it’s always a really good idea to keep a supply of certain things in the cupboard during the holiday season.

Sweetened condensed milk is a must, obviously.

Candy canes. Naturally,

All flavors of candy bark. (Chocolate, vanilla, peppermint, etc.)

And last, but not least, lots of packages of Oreos – in different flavors.

All of these things sure come in handy when I’m in a pinch and need to make something in a hurry.

Pretty, yummy, easy!

No one wants to be the person who shows up to the afternoon office Christmas party with a bag of convenience store powdered donuts.

Even though we can all agree they’re good.

You can whip up a batch of this Candy Cane Oreo Fudge the night before, put it in a darling little Christmas tin, and you’ll look like the Queen of Christmas office parties.

It tastes soooo good!

But, that’s not all. It looks as festive as festive gets. I would go so far as to say it’s entirely Pinterest-worthy.

How to prepare a pan for fudge.

I won’t apologize for my belief that fudge should have a hint of the taste of butter on the bottom and sides.

It’s the little something extra that makes every bite of fudge taste 100% homemade.

Line your pan with aluminum foil and make sure to work the foil into the edges.

Take some slightly softened butter and coat the foil in butter. Lots of people will say “lightly coat the foil.”

That’s one way to go. In fact, it’s probably the right way to go. But as far as I’m concerned, buttering the fudge pan is one place I’m happy to be wrong.

What’s your opinion?

Freeze the cookies

Before you try to cut the Oreos into quarters, freeze them. It’ll make the job much easier and the “chunks” will look nicer.

One final tip

Don’t eat the Oreos while you’re making the fudge! Be strong!

  1. On this recipe it says to line pan with foil and butter foil but then in instructions it says to use parchment paper… which one do I actually use?
