Frozen Grapes with Jello

Frozen Jello grapes are perfect for a hot summer day and such an easy recipe to make! These candied grapes are a combination of sweet, tart, and juicy! All you need is a handful of ingredients and you can have these delicious sweet treats in no time!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Grapes: You will need a pound of your favorite seedless grapes. Avoid seeds in grapes because this is a frozen recipe and it may be hard to remove the seeds while eating.
  • Jello: The main flavors used in this recipe are raspberry, berry blue, orange, lime, lemon, and grape jello.

How To Make Candy Grapes

Step 1. Remove the stems off the grapes and clean well in a colander. In a small dish, add 1 cup of water. Pour each jello box into its own separate small bowl or paper plate.

Step 2. Place a toothpick in each of the grapes before dipping them into the water dish and dropping them into the powdered jello to coat. Arrange onto a cookie sheet by flavor before freezing. Place the tray in the freezer for at least an hour or until completely frozen.

Step 3. Store the candy grapes in an airtight container or freezer bag.

Variations For Candy Grapes:

  • Flavors: you can go ahead and experiment with any flavors that you want. The flavors used in this recipe are my favorites, but you can try others like apricot, blackberry fusion, strawberry, cranberry, fruit punch, and more incredible flavors.
  • Powder Coating: We prefer Jello, but any other flavored sugar mixture will work like Kool-aid powder or fun dip.
  • Jolly Rancher Candy Grapes: crush Jolly Ranchers (or any hard candy) in a small blender and pour half into a bowl. Microwave for 20-30 seconds until candy is melted. Dip the frozen grapes (one at a time) into the melted candy until fully coated. Then roll into the crushed Jolly Ranchers in the candy coating and place onto a clean piece of parchment paper to harden.

Did you know you can buy Cotton Candy Grapes at the grocery store? Not colorful like these, but we love them!

What Kind Of Grapes Taste Best With This Candy Grapes Recipe?

This recipe pairs well with almost any kind of grape. One of my favorites is seedless grapes like red, green, or black grapes. Black grapes are so sweet and super juicy! However, green grapes with help the colors to appear brighter.

I am just seeing this colorful frozen grape fun idea!! I love this especially since I love grapes!! I am going to definitely try this this summer at a picnic soon! Thank you for this lovely idea!!

  2. Please put a warning on this recipe !! Small children often choke on grapes, grape tomatoes and hotdogs. All should be cut into small bites for preschoolers and under

    1. This was my first thought! To dangeous for me to try unless you could do it with them cut in half! Grapes are one of the most common foods that children choke on!

    2. Why does it need a warning? Anyone following the recipe can choose to cut up the grapes or not. If someone doesn’t know that grapes are a choking hazard, that isn’t really the author’s problem.

  3. How long can they sit out without defrosting??? I make Jello jugglers all the timr…The kids will love these!!! How Lon can you keep them in freezer before using them???
