Chicken Cake

My husband turned the BIG 4-0 today & my boys wanted to make him a chicken cake to celebrate his birthday! Kind of a odd request, but we made it happen & think it turned out really cute! We shared this on our Instagram & I wasn’t planning on sharing on the blog. However, the boys really wanted me to.

We started out the morning making 40 pancakes with sprinkles…doesn’t he look SO excited (I am not speaking of the photo bomber)!:) He’s not a big fan of sprinkles…crazy right?!

I think we impressed him with his Chicken Cake…my boys had lots of fun making this!

We made 1 round cake & another loaf pan cake. We pieced them together & frosted with butter cream. We made the feet with pretzel sticks securing the toes with a little bit of chocolate. The beak is a gumdrop & we used red sprinkles for the comb on the head.

SO easy to make & well….it looks like a pretty cute chicken!:)

Very cute cake! Happy Birthday to your husband! Does this signify that he's not a "spring chicken" anymore? Haha! 🙂
