How To Make Chocolate Turtle Poke Cake
- Chocolate Turtle Poke Cake starts with a chocolate cake mix prepared according to package instructions.
- Then you poke holes in the top with a wooden spoon handle. Pour a can of caramel flavored sweetened condensed milk over the baked cake and spread letting the caramel fall deep in the holes.
- Refrigerate for an hour.
- Then frost with chocolate frosting and sprinkle with pecans, mini chocolate chips and drizzle with caramel.
Which Boxed Cake Mix Should I Use?
I used this Classic Devil’s Food Cake Mix from Duncan Hines, but any box mix will work! I always take my cake out about 5 minutes before from the package directions state to prevent dryness. However, all ovens are different, so keep an eye on your cake the last few minutes it’s in the oven!
Tips:
- When poking holes into the cake, make sure you cover the entire cake. You don’t want a single bite of poke cake to be missing that delicious gooey filling!
- If you don’t want to use store bought chocolate frosting, you will LOVE our 5-Minute Chocolate Buttercream Frosting recipe. It’s so Easy and delicious!
