My 8 year old thought up this fun Halloween Spooky Bush Eyes craft that only cost just a few dollars to make!
Dollar Store Spooky Bush Eyes Craft
We actually spotted some spooky eyes peaking out from a tree on Pinterest that someone created using beach balls. We thought it looked so much fun t o make, but didn’t want to waste time looking for beach balls this time of year and didn’t want to spend the money for them. My 8 year old found these plastic pumpkins that you can purchase in different stores for 1 dollar and he said they would work perfect. He was right and we love how they turned out! They take 30 minutes to make and such a fun Halloween craft that the kids can make themselves!
Items You Will Need:
- Green Plastic Pumpkin Buckets
- Paint Brush
- White Spray Paint
- Aluminum Foil
- Black and Red Paint
How To make Bush Eyes
We started out by purchasing 2 plastic pumpkin trick or treat buckets that you can get at about any store for $1.00. Any color will work. We went with green…
Flip them over and cover the middle part that sticks out with aluminum foil. Tape the edges. We painted them white using white spray paint that we already had….
Take the aluminum foil off after it’s dry. Find something round like a bowl or a jar lid and trace around it using a pencil….
Paint the middle with black paint….
We used red paint to make creepy veins…
That’s it! Such a easy and cheap Halloween craft that the kids will have so much fun making! We love how they look in our bush as well!

The eyeballs would be really cool with glow in the dark paint! I. Plan on making these next Halloween.
Glow in the dark paint would look awesome at night

Very clever!
I love small projects with big impact!
Your kids are as crafty as you! Great idea using plastic pumpkins!! Love this idea and awesome way to make it with a little investment!
Danielle…not really. They have thin plastic handles and we just had a branch going around that. They are so light and you can just place them in there. They have stayed put just fine even in some storms we have had recently.
Did you do anything to secure these in tree/bush?
Those are so cool! My boys would love those!
Very fun (and easy on the pocket too). Love it. I'm featuring this post as part of my round up of this week's Kids' Co-op (and pinning). xoxo P
