We thought it would be cut to make Elmo and Big Bird out of fruit since our Ernie and Bert turned out so cute. We made these using 1 red apple, 1 clementine, Nutella, 1 large marshmallow, 1 mini marshmallow, 2 chocolate chips, 2 mini chocolate chips, 2 slices of canned pineapple.
For Elmo we cut our apple in half. We cut the large marshmallow in half for the eyes and put our chocolate chips for the pupils. Attach the eyes with nutella or peanut butter. We used spread on some Nutella for the mouth, but you could use raisins for that. We used a couple of clementine slices for the nose.
For Big Bird we put 1 pineapple slice on the plate. We cut a couple of small pieces out of the other pineapple slice so there wouldn’t be a hole in the middle. Put on top of the full pineapple slice. We saved the cut out pieces for the top feathers and beak. We cut a mini marshmallow in half for the eyes and cut a raisin for the pupils.
Maybe my big brothers will not see me take their totally awesome Sesame Street snacks! heehee
A tip…
If we did this again I would cut out Elmo’s mouth and then add the Nutella or raisins. I think that would look better.
