Fun Cinnamon Chips with Watermelon Salsa

It seems like everything you can think of has it’s own day and today happens to be National Watermelon Day! We thought it would be fitting to share this fun watermelon snack. We called this watermelon salsa, but it’s really just chopped watermelon. That is what the kids preferred. There are lots of great watermelon salsa recipes out there if kids do not mind eating onions, etc…

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat tortillas
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Cooking Spray
  • Watermelon

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Cut your tortillas out with any fun cookie cutter that you have. The boys and neighbor kids picked out dinosaur shapes so we used those. After you cut out your shapes place them on cookie sheets. Spray the tortilla shapes with cooking spray and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Do this on both sides. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Place the chopped watermelon in the bowl and serve with the cinnamon chips. The kids gobbled this up within seconds!
