How to Make Chocolate Pumpkin Bars

You will need to set your oven to 350 degrees. Use Pam to spray a 9×13 pan.

Mix the butter and sugar to a large bowl and beat until light and fluffy.

Add in your eggs one at a time and beat until combined.

Mix in the vanilla and pumpkin puree until combined.

Add the flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk until combined.

Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet and beat until well mixed.

Pour in half the batter into the prepared pan and evenly spread.

Add dollops of Nutella into the batter using a small spoon.

Then, swirl the Nutella using a butter knife.

Then, use the remaining batter and spread onto the bottom half.

Add more dollops of Nutella onto the batter. And slowly swirl in the Nutella again.

You will then place your bars in the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes or until you can place a toothpick into the bars and comes out clean of any wet batter.

Take out your finished bars and set aside to cool thoroughly before serving!

Does the Pumpkin Make These Healthier?

There are no negative consequences for eating pumpkin. Having pumpkin in this recipe is healthier in the sense of having it in the bars. However, the pumpkin in this recipe is added simply for flavor and does not make these bars healthy in any way.

Do I Need to Refrigerate Homemade Pumpkin Bars?

The Nutella Pumpkin Bars can be left out at room temperature. However, placing in the fridge will help with the shelf life of your bars. You will need to make sure to place them in a sealed airtight container.
