This red velvet hot cocoa is one of my newest favorites. We love making homemade hot cocoa in the winter. There are so many fun varieties and it’s actually pretty simple even if it does look fancy! The key is the red velvet syrup and whipped topping – yum!

Red Velvet Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 10 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 tsp. Red Food Color
- 1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. red velvet syrup
Directions:
- Place milk and granulated sugar in medium saucepan on medium heat.
- Bring to simmer, stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in chocolate chips with wire whisk until melted.
- Stir in food color, syrup and vanilla.
- Pour into serving cups.
- Top with whip cream.
- Garnish with Christmas sprinkles.
