Sam’s club has been adapting their policies and their hours to help those in need during the coronavirus. Now, Sam’s Club is opening its warehouses to frontline responders during what they call hero hours. The best part, you don’t need a membership!

Hero Hours
Starting on April 19, 2020, Sam’s Club will initiate Hero Hours. Every Sunday from 8 am-10 am first responders along with healthcare workers will be able to shop at the warehouses. No membership will be required during these times as well.
So far, the warehouses have hired tons more workers to help during this time. They also have designated senior hours to allow those who are most at risk to shop safely. They also set up a new concierge service for the most vulnerable people as well.
Additionally, they are now only letting two people per membership card in the store at a time, with a max of 300 people in the warehouses at a particular time. Now, they are expanding their services to healthcare workers and first responders.
Who Qualifies?
Sam’s Club wrote on their social media channels who exactly would qualify. Healthcare workers can include:
- doctors
- nurses
- lab technicians
- any aides
Basically, they said, “anyone who delivers care and services to the sick and ailing either directly as doctors and nurses or indirectly as aides, helpers, laboratory technicians, or even medical waste handlers.”
First responders are, but not limited to:
- police officers
- paramedics
- firefighters
We all know that these workers need this benefit the most. That is why Sam’s Club is asking if only the frontline responders shop during these times. If at all possible, please shop during other hours and days and save these two hours for those who really need it.
Sam’s Club is also only allowing the frontline responders, not their families or spouses at this particular time as well. This will help keep their stores empty and safer as only 300 can come into the warehouse at one time.
