How To Make The Cookies

First, you make your cookie dough and form it into the shape of a cookie by rolling it into a ball, then flattening it out with your fingers.

Next, you’ll place a Hershey’s kiss on top and fold the dough around it like shown below

Roll the cookie again to make sure they all reshape into a ball and bake them.

As soon as they come out of the oven, roll them in powdered sugar while they’re still warm. This makes them taste so good!

Total: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter - softened
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of Pecans - chopped fine
  • 1 package of Hershey's Kisses

  • Add the Pecans, and flour, and stir until well combined.
  • Place the dough in the refrigerator to chill for about 45 minutes.
  • While the dough is chilling, line 2 cookie sheets with Parchment paper, and remove the wrappers from the chocolate Kisses.
  • When the dough is chilled, remove from the refrigerator, and using about a Tablespoonful of dough, roll it slightly in your palms, and press in the center.
  • Place a chocolate kiss in the center of the cookie dough, and pull the dough up around the candy.
  • Gently roll the dough to form a ball and place it on the parchment paper.
  • Continue until you've used all the dough.
  • Place the cookie sheets in the oven at 375 degrees for 14 minutes, until the cookies are golden brown on the bottom edges.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven, and allow them to cool until they are just warm.
  • Place a clean piece of Parchment paper on the counter and place the powdered sugar in a bowl.
  • Place a small bit of powdered sugar where each cookie will set on the parchment paper.
  • When the cookies are still just warm, roll them in the powdered sugar in the bowl, then place them on the parchment paper on powdered sugar to prevent them from sticking.

    1. Hi Kim. Either would work depending on your preference as there is no other salt in the recipe.

    1. I measure out the dough in 48 same size pieces before wrapping it around the kiss. This way I know I will have the right number. You probably started with too much dough around the cookies in the beginning that there wasn’t enough for all of the kisses.

  1. My cookies ran and looked more like little volcanoes. I not sure what happened. They sure taste good though

    1. Mine did too! I think there is too much butter and they should be chilled after forming into balls.

I’ve made this recipe twice now, once with the Hershey Kisses and earlier today with white chocolate chips. Both were a huge success with my husband and boys. I actually didn’t intend on using the white chips but I didn’t have any kisses in the house so I improvised. They turned out amazing! If anyone in your family likes white chocolate you should give them a try. I put 3-4 per cookie and that was perfect.

  3. My son in law has a nut allergy, are they still good without the pecans or is there a flavoring that can replace the nuts that anyone recommends
    Thank you

These remind me of the “mexican wedding cookies” we always made around the holidays growing up but without all of the icky Crisco! So good. Toddler enjoyed hiding the chocolate in the dough and rolling in powdered sugar (and sneaking lots of kisses from the pile). The bottoms did brown way too fast but still taste just fine. Thanks for sharing!

  5. My dough did not turn out like yours. I chilled it but it was still sticky. It also did not make 4 dozen I got about a dozen in a half.

  6. update – I made these – they tasted really good but mine spread too much the 1st batch so made sure they were completely chilled for the 2nd batch – they did better but still didn’t look like yours – they were too fragile to roll in powdered sugar – the ones that I could, I put in the freezer and they froze just fine
