We wanted to make a different kind of Thanksgiving treat & came up with these fun Turkey Pretzel Rods! Let me tell you…my boys just loved these & they are very easy to make! I also believe there is nothing better than chocolate covered pretzels will a bit of peanut butter thrown in the mix…YUM!
Turkey Pretzel Rods
Pretzel Rods (we like Snyder’s)
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
White Candy Coating (Candiquik)
Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds
Edible Eyes
Sprinkles
Toothpicks
Start out by breaking off pieces of the pretzel rods to match in size. These pieces will be the feathers. Then melt the candy coating according to directions. Take a full pretzel rod & dip the top of it in the coating. Push a toothpick in the rod pieces & spread the coating on the rod using a spoon….
Then you will want to have 3 little bowls with red, orange, & yellow sprinkles ready….
sprinkle on a different color on each pretzel rod piece….
Then lay the rod & pieces onto wax paper & let dry. We decorated a Reese’s peanut butter cup with edible eyes & chocolate covered sunflower seeds to make the turkey face. Then we added a little white candy coating onto the back using a spoon & placed it on top of the pretzel feathers.
Let them dry for about 10-15 minutes & then they are ready to go!
