With the coronavirus, it is a hard time for anyone. However, it is harder for those who struggle to make ends meet or work long hours. For this mom, it was devasting as she couldn’t find diapers and started crying.

Panic is spreading all over the world and people are starting to go crazy. People have started to buy things in bulk, leaving nothing for everyone else.

Toilet paper is going out of stock, along with all the food and cleaning supplies. However, people are now hoarding and bulk buying diapers and wipes. For moms, this is a serious matter.

Lauren Whitney

Especially to Lauren Whitney. She is a mother of four kids, two boys, and two girls. She went to the store looking for diapers for her youngest girl, but they were all out.

After going to many stores, there were still no diapers in her daughter’s size. Frustrated and exasperated, she recorded a TikTok of herself crying in Walmart.

“How am I supposed to diaper my child if I can’t afford 20 at a time like you can?” Lauren cried during her TikTok.

Later, she told Buzzfeed that she wasn’t planning on uploading the video, but rather keeping it in her drafts. However, when she got home and checked on it, it went viral.

“I debated taking it down, but decided that it needed to be seen.”

She wants people to realize that this panic buying is hurting low-income families. Some people cannot go to the stores right when the trucks get there or have the money to afford to go at those particular times. If people just purchased only what they need, everything would stay in stock.

Luckily, she was able to find some diapers for her daughter a few days later.

If you are going to the store, just buy what you and your family need. Bulk buying is hurting many people around you, even kids and babies, just as it did with this mom who was crying over no diapers for her daughter.
