Valentine Love Bug Cookies

How adorable are these love bug cookies? These yummy Nutter Butters dipped in pink chocolate are my kids favorite Valentine’s Day treat.  These are going to be a huge hit at all the Valentine school parties this year.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Butter Butters
  • 1 package of bright pink candy melts
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 package of small edible eyes
  • 1 container of wilton confetti hearts
  • 1 package of wilton royal icing transfer butterfly wings
  • 1 cookie sheet fitted with parchment paper
  • Double Boiler



Love Bug Cookies

Directions

  1. Using the double boiler, place water into the bottom pot and bring to a boil
  2. Place the top pot on top and pour in the candy melts and add in the tbsp coconut oil
  3. Using a rubber spatula, mix until melted and smooth
  4. Using a fork, dip a Nutter Butter cookie into the candy melt. Use the fork to flip it over.
  5. Carefully pick up the cookie using the fork and lightly tap the edge of the pot to get ride of the excess candy melt
  6. Place onto the cookie sheet
  7. Repeat steps with remaining cookies
  8. Place two eyes onto the Nutter Butter
  9. Place two red hearts for the antenna
  10. Place a red heart under the eyes for the mouth
  11. Let the cookies harden
  12. Once cookies are hard, dip the edge of the wing into the chocolate and place the wing into the crease of the nutterbutter
  13. Hold wing there for about 1 minute for chocolate to harden
  14. Enjoy!
