What is Garlic Confit?

Fresh garlic is slow roasted with olive oil, thyme, and red pepper flakes to create this easy recipe. Perfect for toast, soups and salads, or sauteed veggies!

You'll need garlic, seasonings, and a few other simple ingredients to make this easy recipe.

What You'll Need

Cut 1/2 inch off the tops of each head of garlic. Place cut-side down in a cast iron skillet.

Prep the Garlic

Add the seasonings to the garlic and pour olive oil over the top. Then cover the skillet with foil and roast the garlic.

Roast the Garlic

Remove the foil from the skillet. Turn the oven to high broil and broil for 3-4 minutes.

Broil the Garlic

Let the garlic cool enough to handle, then peel each bulb.

Peel the Bulbs

Squeeze the garlic into a glass container, then strain the remaining oil and pour it over the garlic.

Squeeze into Jars

Use as desired and enjoy!
