  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  • In a large pan, over medium heat, brown the ground beef and ground sausage.
  • Drain the meat and return back to the pan.
  • Add in velveeta cheese, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, oregano and worcestershire sauce. Return the pan to medium low heat. Continue to mix until velveeta cheese has melted completely.
  • Spread a tablespoon of mixture to cocktail rye bread and place on a pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 6 minutes or until the cheese topping is bubbling.
  • Top with parsley before serving if you wish.

Notes

  • You can also serve the cheese mixture with tortilla chips as a dip.
  • You can brown ground beef and sausage ahead of time and store in the refrigerator to use at a later date to cut down on preparation time.
  • If you can’t find cocktail rye bread, regular slices of rye bread will also work.
  • Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze in a single layer for 1 month.
