These Red Velvet Chocolate Chunk Bars are simply scrumptious and easily made using a cake mix. I love red velvet combined with chocolate. 

Red Velvet Chocolate Chunk Bars

  • 2 Boxes Duncan Hines Red Velvet cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 C chocolate chunks plus 1/2 C to add to the topping



  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper
  2. Using a standing mixer, beat together the cake mix, egg, butter and vanilla until combined
  3. Fold in the 1 1/2 C of chocolate chunks
  4. Press the batter into the baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 C of chocolate chunks
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center

Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and enjoying!
