Valentines Sugar Cookie Bars

Servings: 1 9x13 baking dish

Ingredients

Cookie ingredients:

  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 C sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 4 3/4 C flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 containers of Wilton springtime pearlized jimmies
  • 1 bag of Wilton pink heart sprinkles

Frosting ingredients

  • 2 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 3 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3-5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • pink gel food coloring
  • small angled spatula

Instructions

Cookie Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper
  • Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda
  • Gradually mix in to the wet ingredients
  • Fold in one container of sprinkles into the dough
  • Scoop dough into the prepared baking dish and lightly flatten with your hands
  • Place into the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely

Frosting directions

  • Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
  • Beat on medium speed until smooth and stiff peaks form
  • Beat in a few drops of pink food coloring until combined
  • Using a angled spatula, frost the top of the cookie bars
  • Sprinkle with the remaining sprinkles
  • Cut into bars and enjoy!
