Instant Pot Mongolian Beef

The beef turns out so tender in the Instant Pot. Adding the perfect flavors makes this Mongolian beef a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs top sirloin cut into 1/4″ strips, pounded thin
  • 1 TBSP vegetable oil
  • 3 TBSP garlic minced
  • 1/2 C soy sauce
  • 1/2 C water
  • 2/3 C dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 TBSP cornstarch
  • 3 TBSP water
  • 3 green onions sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • Rice Noodles

Instructions

  • Season the sirloin with salt and pepper.
  • Pour oil into the cooking pot, select browning.
  • When oil begins to sizzle (brown small batches of meat until all meat is browned)
  • Remove the meat from the cooking pot to a plate when browned.
  • Next, add garlic to the pot.
  • Sauté 1 minute.
  • Now slowly add the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and ginger.
  • Stir all the ingredients to combine.
  • Carefully add the browned beef and any juices from the meat.
  • Select High Pressure.
  • Set timer for 12 minutes.
  • Turn the cooking pot off.
  • In a bowl add the cornstarch and 3 tbsp water together (whisking until smooth)
  • Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the cooking pot. (stir constantly)
  • Put on simmer bringing to a boil.
  • Stir constantly until sauce thickens.
  • Add the green onions. (stir well)
  • Add rice noodles as a garnish.
  • Serve on Long Grain or Instant Rice
