Carne Asada

  • 1 jalapeño seeded /minced
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1/2 Cup cilantro chopped
  • 1/3 Cup olive oil
  • 1 orange juiced
  • 2 lime juiced
  • 2 TBSP white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Lb skirt steak remove excess fat



  1. Whisk together the jalapeño, garlic, cilantro, olive oil, orange juice, lime juice, white wine vinegar, chili powder, salt, cumin, oregano, chili powder, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Add the steak in the baking dish and pour the marinade on top.
  3. Cover the baking dish.
  4. Marinade the steak and refrigerate for 2-4 hours, turning it often.
  5. Do not marinade more than 4 hours
  6. Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  7. Take the steak out of the baking dish.
  8. Using paper towels pat dry the steak.
  9. Lightly drizzle the steak with a touch of olive oil.
  10. Lightly season the steak with the salt and pepper.
  11. Transfer the steaks to the preheated grill.
  12. Grill steaks for 8 minutes per side.
  13. Turn once.
  14. Remove steaks.
  15. Set steaks aside for about 5 minutes.
