Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter melted (2 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups of unbleached flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar or holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream together butter, sugar, and cream cheese. Beat well for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add vanilla and beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Slowly mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Create 1” balls and roll them in sugar or holiday sprinkles.
  • Place cookie dough balls on a baking sheet about 2” apart.
  • Sprinkle extra sugar or sprinkles on the top of the cookies before you bake them.
  • Bake for 8-9 minutes or until the edges start to brown (8 minutes was perfect for my oven).
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let the cookies cool on a cookie sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can always use different holiday sprinkles or any sprinkles you would like instead of granulated sugar.
If the dough seems too soft to roll, put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before creating cookie balls.
