Strawberry Sauce

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir to coat the strawberries evenly.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture begins to bubble, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving warm, or let it cool completely and refrigerate for later use. Enjoy!
