This versatile Strawberry Sauce is made with just 6 ingredients in less than 20 minutes, with chunks of fresh strawberries in every bite. It’s an easy way to up-level everything from pancakes and waffles to cheesecake and ice cream.
In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir to coat the strawberries evenly.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture begins to bubble, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the lemon juice and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving warm, or let it cool completely and refrigerate for later use. Enjoy!
