  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground breakfast sausage until it is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside.
  • Spread the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Layer the cooked sausage over the tater tots. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage layer.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish. Use a spatula to gently press down, ensuring the egg mixture covers all ingredients.
  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
