I’m so amazed by this so I’d just thought I’d share…
For years I searched up and down for the best way to clean glass shower doors. Lost countless hours really. Tried all store bought products to just about every DYI trick out there. Not even vinegar and blue dish soap did exceptionally, just ok. Squeegee was ok. Settled with windex in the end. Nothing spectacular. So just randomly, I had a remainder of an old magic eraser. They looked brand new, like the days I just installed. Took off years of grime. Unbelievable. Those things are magic sometimes. Can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner or at least of it
I would
I’ve only used vinegar and hot water for windows with a professional squeegee to get windows streak free clean. I could do all the windows outside my house in about 20-30 minutes. I never use a cloth. Slap on plenty of hot water with just maybe 1/4 cup of vinegar and squeegee the window. Done. Not a streak on them. I have 8 foot doorwalls people walk into. Works. One ingredient with hot water–distilled vinegar. If you live where it’s chilly add a little rubbing alcohol to the mix so all will dry quickly.
For you that like to paint, I found a wonderful cleaner for lifting old paint and stain. My solid oak cabinets really needed redoing from scratches and water marks. The dollar store sells “awesome” buy the quart. I mixed equal parts with water and put it in a spray bottle then sprayed it on the wood. I let it sit just a few minutes. I used an old rag and wiped it off. I was amazed. The paint and stain wiped off smoothly and even although due(16 yrs) some remained in the wood. That was okay as I was restraining it the same color. They look beautiful and professional. Not only that, cleanup is simple soap and water. I used dawn soap. No more dust from sanding and it took much less time to do the job and clean up. Cleanup on brushes I placed in awesome and warm water. Even brushes and rollers that had become dry and throwaway became clean and worked perfect and mellow all the way to the metal that held the brush hairs together. There is very little odor either.
This works on oil, craft paint and any paint you use to paint in your home.
Thanks. Good to know Awesome cleaner is that harsh.
I find vinegar to be the best cleaner for my floors and cabinets.
Me too! I use vinegar all the time for many things even in the laundry room. Also finding that peroxide works really well as a good stain remover.
