Cinnamon Donuts (Baked)

Instructions

CINNAMON DONUTS

  • Heat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter 3. In a large bowl mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
  • Pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture and mix until smooth.
  • Spray your donut trays with non-stick spray. Using a pastry bag or cut out ziplock bag, pipe the batter into the tray filling the donuts until about 2/3 full.
  • Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until donuts are dry. Allow the donuts to rest approximately 2 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack.

CINNAMON CRUMBLE TOPPING

  • In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Add in the melted butter and mix until clumpy. Set aside

CINNAMON ICING

  • In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon. Set aside.

VANILLA ICING

  • In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.

ASSEMBLE THE DONUT

  • Allow the donuts to cool for approximately 15 minutes,
  • Then dip the donuts in the cinnamon frosting and dip directly into the crumble topping.
  • With a spoon drizzle the vanilla icing on top of the donuts. Allow donuts to dry before eating.

Notes

If you do not have buttermilk, 1 teaspoon of vinegar can be added to the milk as a substitute.
