Homemade Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water (to heat in pot)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 lemons (or 1 cup of lemon juice)
  • 4 cups water (for pitcher)
  • fresh mint and lemon slices for garnish (optional)
  • ice

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized pot, mix 2 cups of water with the sugar.
  • Warm on the stove and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and the water is thicker.
  • In a separate bowl or using a juicer, squeeze the juice from the lemons and run it through a sieve to remove any pits.
  • Add the lemon juice to the pitcher.
  • Add the sugar water mixture to the lemon juice.
  • Add the remaining water to the pitcher and stir until mixed evenly.
  • Add ice, lemon slices, and mint as desired.
