Os botões da azedinha geralmente se fecham durante a noite ou em clima mais frio, revelando novamente as listras na parte de trás das flores 😍 Plant fact: native to South Africa, the candy cane oxalis is an herbaceous, bulbous and floriferous plant, which is well known by its curious stripes on the back of the flowers. Its botanical name – Oxalis versicolor – means that it changes color. Candy Cane Oxalis Flowers

These candy cane oxalis flowers are just what your garden needs this year. They are just absolutely stunning and will help your garden to freshen up and be different than every other garden in the neighborhood.

They remind me of something that would be found in Willy Wonka’s garden, or in Santa Clause’s garden as well! These oxalis flowers make me want to pick one and eat it like a candy cane!

They are a perennial plant and are very easy to take care of. Traditionally, these flowers are found in South Africa, but you can grow them just about anywhere!

How to Care for Them

These flowers are also often called candy cane sorrel. They are known for their beautiful swirls of red and white along the petals to create a candy cane look.

You can find these flowers blooming in early spring. At first, you will mainly see their red color; however, when they are fully bloomed, that is when you will see the pop of white, creating that candy cane look.

What is so nice about these flowers is that anyone can grow them! Whether you are a beginner gardener or more experienced, either way, these flowers are perfect for you.

All you need to do is water them like any normal plant and be sure to fertilize them as well. They will get to be between 6 to 12 inches tall.

Don’t you just want to get some of these beautiful candy cane flowers right now for your garden? I know I sure do!
