I love these Air Fryer blackberry hand pies because they are so simple to make and they’re absolutely delicious! A quick dessert without all the fat!
Air Fryer Blackberry Hand Pies
Ingredients:
- 1 package refrigerated pie dough
- 1 egg beaten
For Filling:
- 12 oz fresh blackberries
- ¼ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp cinnamon
For Icing:
- 1 cup Powder sugar
- 1/2 lemon
Directions:
- Preheat the Air fryer by wiping clean and pre heat if needed on your machine.
For Filling:
- Rinse the blackberries and lay them on a plate covered with a paper towel.
- Set to the side for 1 hour to allow berries to dry.
- Cut them in half, and place them in a medium bowl.
- Add in the sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and flour, and toss to combine.
- Pour your blackberry mix into a medium saucepan cook on medium.
- Mash the berries with a potato masher until lightly chunky.
- Turn off the heat and set to the side.
Pie Directions:
- Using your counter top or cutting board spread flour on top to coat.
- Lay the pie crusts and gently roll them out to ¼” thickness.
- Use a LARGE circle cookie cutter cut out 6 circles.
- Place the circles of dough on a baking sheet.
- Place 1 tbsp of filling in the center of the pie dough.
- Brush the edges of the pie dough with beaten egg.
- Fold the dough over, and press the dough down with your fingertips to seal closed.
- Using a fork press around the edges to leave indentations on the edges.
- Brush the top of the pies with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle the top with sugar lightly.
- Place two at a time in the Air Fryer and cook on 380′ for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
Icing Directions:
- Add icing ingredients in a small bowl.
- Mix with a whisk until well combined
- Let cool slightly and top with icing drizzle
- Enjoy
