Cherry Fluff Salad

Fruit salad is one of my favorite things to bring to a BBQ because it is so easy to make and everyone loves it. I love things that don’t take a lot of effort but pack a big punch! That’s a double win for me.

Because you want this to sit for a little bit before eating, you can make this the night before, set it in the fridge and you’ll be all set for the next day. Just grab your dish and head out!

How To Make Cherry Fluff Salad

We use canned fruit for this recipe to make it quick and easy. Plus, you’ll need the canned fruit cocktail since we take the juice from it to add flavor to the dish. It helps thin it out just a bit as well.

First, mix together your cream cheese and Cool Whip with powdered sugar and the juice from your cocktail. After that, you’ll fold in your drained fruit, marshmallows and nuts if you decide to use them. (Make sure to cut the stems off of our cherries.) The pecans are of course optional.

That’s it! Super easy, right?

I absolutely love this recipe!! It brings back so many memories of holiday dinners at my grandma’s house

Tastes great. Mine didn’t turn pink, however. I’m guess I was supposed to use the cherry juice as well as the fruit cocktail juice???? If so, maybe make the recipe a little more clear. Otherwise it’s great!

I just noticed on the recipe here doesn’t have the jello mix in it. I don’t use powdered sugar. Instead I put a large box of black cherry jello mix in mine. That’s what really makes mine such a beautiful color . You can try that next time if you’d like

I made this delicious fruit salad dessert ti bring to my new boyfriend’s church homecoming dinner. I used just regular canned cherries I should use the maraschino cherries like the recipe called for. Maraschino cherry juice gives it that pink color.

Can’t wait to try this but what can I sub for the fruit cocktail. Not a fan of the fuzzy grapes. Can I just use 20 oz of other canned fruit (peaches, pears, apples)?

    1. We use drained mandarins along with the pineapple and cherries! This is a family favorite at the holidays since I was a child!!!
