Today is National Donut Day & this is the perfect time to share these Daddy Donuts that my boys came up with for Father’s Day! Aren’t they funny?! These are so much fun to make! We made homemade donuts, but you could also buy pre-made donuts and dress them up to make things easier.

Daddy Donuts

Donut Recipe (we used Vanilla Bean Donuts from Shugary Sweets)
Chocolate Candiquik
Edible Eyes
Marshmallow Bits (teeth)
Lollipop Sticks or Decorative Straws

We made our donuts in a donut pan according to directions. We made our glaze leaving out the strawberry powder. We also made some circles on a baking pan from our batter to have for making a nose, mouth, etc… Cut them out with kitchen scissors….

Add the glaze & press on the edible eyes & donut cut outs. We took another donut & cut it in half to make the hair. We cut the half in another half. Cut around the middle hole to make it larger. This will fit on top. Then cut out triangle shapes using kitchen scissors. Melt the chocolate candquik according to package directions. Place the melted chocolate in a baggie & snip off the corner. Squeeze on chocolate for the hair, eye brows, & mustache.

One of my boys wanted to make teeth in the hole so we pressed on marshmallow bits before the glaze dried. This looks like one angry or very hungry daddy!ha

Here are my boys with their Daddy Donut creations….

There are so many ways you can make your own Daddy Donuts! Let the kids get creative and Dad’s will love it for Father’s Day!
