I just love Owls and my boys do as well. We get several owls hanging around our house and they are so much fun to watch! I created this Fruit Owl for NBC’s recipe site Dinnertool.com. This is such a fun Fall/Winter after school snack and you will be surprised at how easy it is to put together. It’s also a fun way to get the kids to eat their fruit!
You cut a green apple in half. Take the other half and slice half of it for the wings. Cut a small circle for the head using a kitchen knife. Make the ears from scraps. Cut a marshmallow in half for the eyes. We used mandarin oranges for the beak & feet. Place on chocolate chips for the pupils. Place a pretzel rod (we like Snyder’s) under the feet..super easy & kids will love this!
