Made with just 4 ingredients in 5 minutes, this Strawberry Vinaigrette is light and tangy with a hint of sweetness. Enjoy over your favorite summer salad or use it as a marinade for grilled chicken or fish.

I’ve been making this strawberry vinaigrette on repeat this summer and I’m so excited to share it with you. I love using it as a strawberry salad dressing – it’s particularly wonderful on a chicken spinach salad – but I’ve also used it as a marinade. So good! My favorite part is that I can use fresh, in-season strawberries or frozen strawberries and it takes less than 5 minutes to make!
Why I Love This Strawberry Salad Dressing
- Ready in 5 minutes. This vinaigrette can be made in 5 minutes or less. All you need is a blender! I love that I can whip it up anytime I decide to make a salad.
- Sweet & tangy. I think this strawberry vinaigrette perfectly balances the sweet, tart, and tangy flavors. Apple cider vinegar adds acidity while honey mellows it out. The strawberries add a bit of sweetness but also a fresh flavor.
- Versatile. Of course this strawberry vinaigrette is wonderful on salads – in fact, that’s one of my favorite ways to use it. But there are so many other possibilities too. Use it on veggies or to marinate chicken or fish.
Recipe Ingredients
This simple vinaigrette salad dressing is made with just a few ingredients. Scroll down to the recipe card below for the exact measurements.
- Strawberries – This strawberry salad dressing can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries.
- Apple cider vinegar – The acidic vinegar portion of the vinaigrette.
- Honey – Maple syrup also works too (real maple syrup, not pancake syrup).
- Olive oil – Use a quality extra virgin olive oil.
- Salt & pepper
How To Make Strawberry Vinaigrette
It takes less than 5 minutes to make this strawberry salad dressing. So easy!
- Blend. Combine the strawberries, vinegar, honey, and oil in a food processor. Blend until the strawberries are completely blended and combined with the oil.
- Season. Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend to incorporate.
- Enjoy. Enjoy right away or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for later.
Tips & Variations
Here are a few easy ways to customize the vinaigrette.
- Adjust the sweetness. For a sweeter vinaigrette, add another tablespoon of honey. If it tastes too sweet, add another tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
- Apple cider vinegar substitutions. This vinaigrette can be made with balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar. However, I have not tested these, so you may need to adjust the other ingredients (like the honey) depending on which base you choose.
- Straining is not necessary. You can if you choose, however you do not need to. This dressing is very smooth and you do not taste any seeds from the strawberries.
- Taste test. I always recommend giving the strawberry vinaigrette a taste test in the blender. The sweetness of strawberries can vary based on how ripe they are, so it offers a chance to add more honey or vinegar or more salt and pepper as needed.
Ways To Use It
There are so many ways to use this strawberry vinaigrette! The obvious use is on a green salad. This is amazing on a salad with a bed of spinach, grilled chicken, feta (or blue cheese), sliced strawberries, and pecans (or almonds) but it works on many other salads too, even a fruit salad with fresh berries. It can also be drizzled over veggies or used as a marinade for chicken or fish. Yum!
Proper Storage
Store any remaining strawberry vinaigrette in an airtight container in the refrigerator. A mason just works great. It’s best enjoyed within a week. After the vinaigrette has been resting, be sure to shake the container to help recombine any separated ingredients.
