Spice Blends so you can make your very own spices right at home! These are especially helpful if you realize last minute you are missing your favorite seasoning mix. Not to mention, now you know exactly what’s in your spice bottle.

Making your own spices at home is really easy. It may seem simpler to just buy a packet but the thing about making them homemade, is that once you’ve got it mixed you can use it over and over! All you need to do is measure out the spices, mix together and store.

Turns out, when I started looking into making all of my own seasonings, that I had most of the ingredients already in my kitchen. My guess is that you have most of these ingredients, too!

Go grab whatever you are missing and some empty spice jars and let’s get going.

Taco Seasoning

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • Chili powder
  • Paprika
  • Ground cumin
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Oregano
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Crushed red pepper – optional

Fajita Seasoning

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • Chili powder
  • Ground Cumin
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Black Pepper
  • Kosher Salt
  • Cayenne Pepper

Cajun Seasoning

Cajun seasoning is a blend to form a flavor base for Cajun inspired recipes. This spice mix can be used to season seafood, chicken, vegetables, soups and more.

  • Garlic Powder

Chili Seasoning

This chili seasoning recipe is better than anything that is store bought.

This is the most versatile seasoning, ever! We use it on almost everything.

  • Ground Mustard Seed
  • Ginger
  • Allspice

Italian Seasoning

This is great for not just Italian pasta dishes but chicken and beef, too.

  • Marjoram
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Sage

Pumpkin Pie Spice

This is a definite must have for Fall! We find ourselves putting this on desserts, coffee, hot cocoa and of course, pie.

Fajita Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Cajun Seasoning

  • 2 ½ tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme

Old Bay Seasoning

  • 2 Tablespoons Celery Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground mustard seed
  • teaspoon Ginger
  • teaspoon Allspice
  • teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 3 Bay leaves

Pumpkin Pie Spice Seasoning

  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves


  • Stir all the ingredients together and pour into an air-tight container.

where is the spice recipe poster to print?

I was hoping to find Greek seasoning.

You could copy and paste it in to a document. To print. I thought it might be cute to print ant frame on a wall in your kitchen if the colors were right.

For salt, this table salt or kosher? A table spoon of table salt is far saltier than kosher. 5 stars

How many Tbs seasoning per pound of taco meat or chili?5 stars

Love the recipes. So far I’ve only tried the taco seasoning and it is great! I was making the Old Bay and wondered about the bay leaves. Do you just leave them whole in the container after you’ve mixed the rest? Maybe a silly question, but I wanted to do it right! Thank you5 stars

I use small baby jars to put these spices in. Then I just put a label on them and put them in my cabinet ️️️️

It is very discouraging to try and see recipes when they are covered by all your monetizing.. 

Thank you for theg reat guide to some of the best seasoning mixes. I’m printing this to frame, it’ll also make great gift. Mixing it up at home is much better and more versatile. Store bought mixes have added chemicals. Like silicone dioxide?! Ya, Like I want to eat powered Quartz crystals. 5 stars
