Storing and Freezing

  • Place the baked Orange Creamsicle Cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4-5 days.

Variations and Tips

  • Change the flavor – Swap out the orange cake mix and extract for lemon cake mix and extract. You’ll also want to use just a little yellow food coloring instead of orange.
  • White chocolate chips – if you don’t have white chocolate chips or don’t prefer them, you can absolutely make this recipe without them. Just skip that ingredient but otherwise make the cookies as directed.
  • Softened ingredients – make sure the butter and the cream cheese are softened. We also like to keep our eggs at room temperature when baking.
  • Use a cookie scoop – to make sure each cookie is the same size.

Brought these in orange and lemon to the 4th of July last year and had everyone asking for the recipe! They were great!
I was wanting to make the dough in advance this year- what do you think about freezing them after rolling into balls? Then when I want to bake, thawing them, rolling them in powdered sugar, and then baking? Has anyone tried and know if this works? Let me know!!

    1. Jill says:

Thanks Helena! Yes, that should work fine. They also freeze great already baked, Just let them cool completely and then store in an airtight container or bag.
