Orange Creamsicle Shake
Ingredients You Need
- Vanilla Ice Cream – We used Ben & Jerry’s but any brand will do. Keep in mind the slight flavor difference between plain vanilla, vanilla bean, etc. You can also use no-churn homemade vanilla ice cream!
- Orange Sherbet – One of my favorite desserts all by itself. It adds great flavor to this shake.
- Orange Soda – We used Crush but Fanta or any other brand will work great, too.
- Whipped Cream – Just to add on top. Find my best homemade whipped cream recipe here.
- Cherries – This is really just for presentation, so it’s optional.
How To Make An Orange Creamsicle Shake
When I said this was really easy, I meant it. Here is all you need to do to make your creamsicle shake.
- Put a scoop each of ice cream and sherbet in a blender.
- Add the soda and blend until it’s a frothy, milkshake consistency.
- Pour in a glass and top it off with whipped cream and a cherry.
If you want to add another fun garnish you can slice an orange and add that to the side of the cup and a striped orange paper straw. Another fun option would be to skip the cherry and go for some fun, bright sprinkles!

Back in the 50s our grandfather who make up a couple of batches of popcorn and “cows” (ice cream shakes) for us grandkids on a Friday evening watching tv. There were several varieties made from Nehi sodas: orange, strawberry, grape, root beer, vanilla and cola. Orange and vanilla were my favorites. I’m over 70 years old and I still make them . They bring back such wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing.
