Boozy Peppermint Mocha is a great addition to your Christmas party. Rich chocolate, bright peppermint, and that underlying alcohol that warms your body from the inside out combine to make this a new favorite. Not just any hot chocolate or mocha, but one that is ideal for an added celebration.
Boozy Peppermint Mocha
I love hot cocoa and will use any excuse I can to enjoy a nice hot mug. The idea of adding a bit of peppermint vodka to the mix definitely has perks. At the end of the day when the kids are in bed, I can indulge in a bit of this delicious mocha with zero guilt. Make this for yourself, and share with your spouse or your friends at the next adults-only holiday party.
Can I Make This Kid-Friendly?
If you want to have one mocha recipe for everyone, then leave out the vodka and liquor and replace it with chocolate milk or a bit more heavy cream. This gives a thicker and richer cocoa experience that is delightful without being boozy. You can always make one batch for the kids and one batch for the adults.
Can I Make This Ahead and Reheat?
If you need to save time for something like a holiday party, you can definitely make this ahead of time. Prepare it up to the point of adding the alcohol. At that point, you will allow it to cool, then you can pour it into a lidded container or jar and store it in the refrigerator. Before serving, bring it back to the temperature in a saucepan. Then you can add the liquors as directed and serve.
This is also a great recipe to prepare, pour into the slow cooker to keep warm, and then serve at a party.
