Easy Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps

These Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps are full of so much flavor with the sweet and tangy sauce that’s perfect for an appetizer or dinner. I also love that this is a low carb option. Ingredients like soy sauce, hoisin sauce, red pepper flakes, and bell peppers take this Asian-inspired dish to the next level.

If you’ve ever had the lettuce wraps at PF Chang’s or Pei Wei, these are very similar – but better, because you can control the exact flavor! Plus they come together in just 20 minutes, which is faster than any takeout.

Why You’ll Love These Asian Lettuce Wraps with Chicken

Here are a few reasons we love these Asian chicken lettuce wraps!

  • Ready in 20 minutes. These lettuce wraps take just 20 minutes to prepare, making them perfect for busy weeknights.
  • Similar to PF Chang’s. If you love PF Chang’s lettuce wraps, you’ll love these! The flavor and ingredients are very similar.
  • Perfect for making ahead. The chicken mixture lasts in the fridge for several days and I’d argue that the leftovers taste even better. I love making the chicken mixture in advance for a super busy night or to pack in lunches!

Recipe Ingredients

Both the chicken lettuce wraps and the spicy dipping sauce are made with typical Asian cuisine ingredients, like soy sauce and hoisin sauce. You should be able to find everything in the International section of your grocery store. See the recipe card below for measurements.

Here’s a quick overview of how to make these Asian chicken lettuce wraps. See the recipe card below for more detailed instructions.

  • Make the sauce. Combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Cover and place in the fridge.

Tips & Variations

Here a few a few tips and variations for making these chicken lettuce wraps.

  • If you love peanut butter you can adjust by adding more. I would suggest adding a teaspoon at a time until you have the flavor that you prefer.
  • Switch up the protein. In place of the ground chicken, you could use shredded chicken, ground turkey, ground beef or ground pork.
  • Use multiple leaves of lettuce. When assembling my lettuce wraps with chicken, I like to double or triple the lettuce so that the wrap is thicker and more sturdy.
  • Make the filling in advance. The chicken filling and the sauce can easily be made in advance, to assemble the wraps later.

Serving Suggestions

These Asian chicken lettuce wraps make a wonderful filling lunch or light dinner. They’re perfect for a packed lunch at work!

If you’d like to add a side dish, consider egg rolls or crab rangoon to keep with the Asian theme.

How To Store Leftovers

  • Fridge. You can keep the leftover chicken mixture in the fridge for up to 5 days. Just keep the lettuce in a separate container so it doesn’t wilt.
  • Reheat. If desired, you can reheat the chicken mixture in the microwave for 30-60 seconds before assembling the lettuce wrap.
