Looking for the best Stain Remover? I don’t know about you, but we are having accidents in this house on a daily basis with my 3 boys and all of their friends. We are sharing our Stain Remover Guide with you today to print and keep on hand. This is great to reference for your typical stains.
Stain Remover
My absolute favorite stain remover isn’t one you buy at the store, but something you can whip up right at home with just a few household ingredients. It works so well and can remove almost any stain. I dare you to find something it won’t work on.
This magic in a bottle has been tested removing stains from clothes with wine, grease, ketchup, blood, pet stains and more. The minute I see someone drip a brown spot of coffee on a white t-shirt I’m grabbing them by the arm to explain exactly what to do when they get home.
Make Your Own Stain Remover
All you need to make this is:
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Dawn Dish Soap
- An empty bottle (to store for laundry)
- Baking Soda (<– you don’t need this every time.)
The recipe is simple. Just mix 1 part Dawn dish soap with 2 parts hydrogen peroxide. What that means, is however much dish soap you use, use double the amount of peroxide.
You can make a big batch to keep in a bottle ready to go in the laundry room or make a smaller amount any time you need it for something here or there.
For Tougher Stains
We all have those stains that like to fight us. This is where the baking soda comes in. Spray the stain, then sprinkle baking soda on it, give it a scrub and let it sit for 30-60 minutes. Baking soda is also really great for anything smelly.

What do you use for gum on the couch
I’ve always heard use an ice cube to harden the gum then it just picks right off but I’ve never actually had to do this. Supposedly works the same if it is stuck in hair.
