  1. The instruction tips say use hands to put sugar and cinnamon in pan but nothing else mentions this. Is this supposed to happen?

I have made this cake twice, and it is fantastic. I made it using a gluten-free cake mix for my neighbor, and it was a disaster. Never fully baked. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

    1. Hi Marilee. I’m not sure what could have happened with the GF cake mix. I know they can be a little hard to deal with when adding more ingredients. I would start with adding the brown sugar to the mix first and then the wet ingredients. You may also have to decrease the amount of the apple cider.

I made this today for company. It was very tasty and moist. I did my best to get the butter, sugar and cinnamon to stick like your picture but it didn’t turn out like the picture. I served it with ice cream, but I will make a glaze next time I make it.

Excellent cake. I did make a apple cider soak and adhered the cinnamon sugar to the cake via the soak not butter. Amazing flavor. Thanks for sharing.

    1. How did you make the apple cider soak? I would have liked more AC flavor and this may be the key.
