Recipe Ingredients
Here’s an overview of everything needed to make each layer of this no-bake cheesecake. Scroll down to the recipe card below for the exact measurements.
Crust
- Graham cracker crumbs – While you can buy graham cracker crumbs these days, I like to make my own by placing sheets of graham crackers in a bag and using a rolling pin to crush them.
- Butter – Salted or unsalted butter both work. Helps hold the crumbs together.
Cheesecake Filling
- Cream cheese – Full-fat, brick-style cream cheese is always best for no-bake cheesecakes like this one. Low-fat options tend to be too soft.
- Granulated sugar – Adds a bit of sweetness to balance the tangy cream cheese.
- Heavy whipping cream – Stabilizes the filling and also helps to make it light and fluffy.
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes – These are hidden in the cheesecake filling for a surprise treat.
White Chocolate Ganache Topping
- White chocolate – I like to use a bar of baking white chocolate, chopped into small pieces. Be sure to use quality white chocolate, as you will be able to taste the difference!
- Heavy cream – Turns the melted chocolate into a pourable ganache.
- Red decorating icing – For drizzling over the top, much like the design on the Little Debbie treat.
- Green sanding sugar – The final festive touch on the cheesecake.
How To Make Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cheesecake
Anyone can make this nostalgic cheesecake! It’s so easy. The printable instructions can be found in the recipe card below.

- Make the crust. Stir the graham cracker crumbs and butter together in a bowl until combined. Firmly press into the bottom of a springform pan. Chill in the fridge.
- Make the cheesecake filling. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream into stiff peaks. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
- Assemble. Spread half of the cheesecake mixture over the crust. Add the Christmas tree cakes in a single layer across the top, pressing down slightly. Top with the remaining cheesecake filling.
- Chill. Cover and refrigerate for at least six hours, until the cheesecake is firm.
- Decorate. Microwave the heavy cream until just steaming. Pour over the chopped white chocolate. Let it sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. Cool slightly, then pour it over the cheesecake, smoothing out the top. Drizzle the red icing in a zigzag pattern and sprinkle the sanding sugar on top.
- Chill. Return the cheesecake to the fridge for 30 minutes or so, until the ganache topping hardens.

Recipe Tips & Tricks
Here are a few things to keep in mind while making this Little Debbie Christmas tree cheesecake recipe for the first time.
- Room temperature cream cheese. Be sure to let the cream cheese sit at room temperature until softened before attempting this recipe. Cold cream cheese will be hard to mix and is likely to leave lumps in the filling.
- Cold heavy cream. On the other hand, you want to leave the heavy whipping cream in the fridge until it’s time to use it. Warm heavy cream won’t whip up into stiff peaks.
- Combine gently. When combining the cream cheese and whipped cream, use a gentle folding motion. Stirring it or being too heavy-handed can cause the whipped cream to deflate.
- Chill before decorating. The cheesecake filling should be completely set before adding the ganache. Otherwise, the warm ganache will melt the already-soft filling and the cheesecake will collapse.
Proper Storage
Store any leftover Little Debbie Christmas tree cheesecake in the fridge, either covered tightly with plastic wrap or in an airtight container. It’s best enjoyed within 4-5 days.
