For a long time, I’ve found all sorts of uses for dryer sheets. I love the smell, but I also need to make money go as far as I can.

That’s why I do a lot more with (new and used) dryer sheets than simply toss them in my laundry.

1. Shine up chrome. Dampen a used dryer sheet and shine up the bathroom faucet or toaster.

2. Keep your scissors sharp by wiping the blades with a used sheet between uses.

3. Buh-bye pet hair!  Rub a dryer sheet over your sofa, bed, etc and it’ll gather up all that hair from your fur baby.

4. Clean oven racks. Soak them overnight in some Dawn dishwashing liquid with some dryer sheets thrown in. The dirt and grime will wipe off easy the next day.

5. Put them in your drawers and they’ll make your clothes smell fresh and clean for a long time.

6. Ward off gnats and mosquitoes. Put a fresh sheet in your pocket and leave a little sticking out. Those flying little monsters don’t like the smell. Same with Mice!

7. A used dryer sheet is the best dusting cloth ever. Shelves, floors, lamps, you name it.

8. Dirty pots and pans are no match for a dryer sheet. Soak your pan in water, dishwashing soap, and a dryer sheet for about an hour.

That burned on goo that was stuck before will come right off.

I put dryer sheets in the bag with my summer cushions in the storage shed to keep them fresh and keep the mice away.

Use them to clean lint trap from dryer. Wipe with uses dryer sheet to remove lint. Then put in toilet tissue roll to use as fire starter.

Put one in the bottom of your kitchen bin. Helps it smell amazing.

Keep a fabric softener sheet in your sewing kit and when you’re sewing by hand pull your thread through a fabric softener sheet before you thread your needle. It cuts way down on tangles in the thread.

The used-up sheets are a great help when cleaning out the lint trap~ you’re already there, it’s in your hand, and it swipes up the thin parts of the mess in the mesh. I have also tried the trick of using them on gummy residue, it got the crud off hardwood floors from double sided carpet tape and price sticker sticky off a clothes rack, both of which I had tried several other things to remove!

After using the dryer sheet in the dryer, use them as backing for foundation piecing strips for quilts.

I load up every crack and crevice on my boat with dryer sheets before storing it for the winter. Rodents and moths do not like them the boat smells nice and fresh in the spring once it’s taken out of storage. Unlike the smell that lingers from mothballs.

Put a dryer sheet in a spray bottle, fill with water. Shake it to mix it up and use it to clean those nasty bugs off the front of your car. Squirt the liquid on the bugs and use a 2nd dryer sheet to scrub off the bugs. They come off easy with a little elbow grease without scratching your car.

I place them in the furnace and air conditioning registers. Each time the blower kicks on, it smells great.

Use a fresh dryer sheet to clean the gunk off of your iron.

Just iron a new dryer sheet on the cotton setting a few strokes and any residue will come right off.

Use a dryer sheetx 4 with intricate die cuts, when I make my greeting cards. Makes it easy to remove the tiny parts you need to disgard.

According to the Orkin man, they repel bed bugs. Pack them in Your luggage on trips and keep extras for when you go back home. Use the ones from the unpacked luggage and place under the bed sheets. Use fresh ones in in the luggage when you repack to keep bed bugs at bay on the return trip home.

I put them in my Gym bag, keeps it nice and fresh!

Place on the bottom side of you register vents, when the air or heating blows through, your house will smell fresh and will also collect dust and dirt. Change every 3 months.

The tips were great dryer sheets are my favorite for cleaning baseboards.
